📖 Overview

Molten Core is the first major endgame raid in Turtle WoW, accessed through Blackrock Mountain after completing the BRD attunement chain. It is the home of Ragnaros the Firelord, banished there by the Titans. For most guilds MC is the starting point of the raiding journey — Tier 1 class sets drop from specific bosses and the dungeon teaches core raid fundamentals that all subsequent raids build on.

The content requires fire resistance gear, good cooldown management, and a guild learning to function as a coordinated 40-person unit. It will feel overwhelming on the first night and manageable by the fifth clear.

Patrols with two Flamewaker Protectors. He applies Lucifron's Curse doubling spell and ability costs. Dispel immediately and kill the adds before engaging.

Magmadar

First gear check. A core hound who terrorises the raid with fear and Frenzy. Tremor Totem for fear. Hunter Tranquilizing Shot removes Frenzy — without it Magmadar becomes unkillable.
Frenzy: Hunter Tranquilizing Shot required. Panic: Mass fear — Tremor Totem. Lava Bomb: Ground AoE.

Baron Geddon

Transforms a random player into a Living Bomb. That player must immediately run away from the raid and wait for the explosion. Every person in the raid must know this mechanic.
Living Bomb: Run away from the raid immediately. Inferno: Massive AoE. Healing cooldowns.

Surrounded by eight Firesworn adds. Warlocks banish adds while the rest are killed in controlled order. Adds must not die near Garr — they empower him.
Firesworn: Banish 3, kill others away from Garr. Do not kill adds near him.

Ragnaros

The Firelord. At 30% HP he submerges and Sons of Flame spawn — kill them all before he re-emerges or he gains massive power. The defining moment of every early MC clear.
Submerge at 30%: Kill all Sons of Flame before he re-emerges. All DPS switches to Sons. Wrath of Ragnaros: Knocks tank into air. Melt Weapon: Have a backup weapon for the tank.

⚔️ Recommended Classes

MC requires 2–3 Warrior tanks, 5–8 healers with Priest prioritised for dispels, and 1–2 Hunters for Tranquilizing Shot on Magmadar. Warlocks provide Healthstones and mana recovery. Shaman Tremor Totem (Horde) or Paladin (Alliance) essential for Magmadar fear.

💡 Tips & Warnings

Living Bomb: The player who gets Geddon's Living Bomb MUST immediately run away from the group. Announce it, run to the edge of the room, wait. Staying in the group guarantees a wipe every time. Every raider must know this before the first pull.

Fire Resistance: Farm FR enchants and gear before your first MC run. Tanks need 200+ FR unbuffed for Ragnaros. DPS and healers benefit from 100+ FR on later bosses. Do not enter MC without FR preparation.

Sons of Flame: At Ragnaros 30% all DPS immediately switches to the Sons. Every Son that reaches Ragnaros when he re-emerges gives him more power. This is a race — all cooldowns, all DPS on Sons until they are all dead.
