📖 Overview

The Black Morass sits within the Caverns of Time in Tanaris where the Bronze Dragonflight allows mortals to visit moments in Azeroth's history. This dungeon revisits the opening of the Dark Portal — the moment that started the First War. The Infinite Dragonflight is attempting to prevent the Portal from opening, which would paradoxically destroy the present-day Azeroth.

The dungeon uses a wave-defense format unlike any standard instance. Waves of Infinite Dragonflight attackers come in intervals while elite bosses lead specific assaults. The timeline stability gauge depletes as enemies reach key points — if it hits zero the dungeon fails. High sustained DPS and fast wave clearing is everything here.

💀 Bosses

01
Chrono Lord Deja
EliteElemental
First elite boss. He slows party attack and cast speed with Arcane Blast and can rewind a player's position mid-fight.
Arcane Blast: Reduces attack/cast speed on the group. Time Rewind: Moves a player back to their previous position.
02
Temporus
EliteElemental
Second elite boss who haste-buffs himself massively. Burn him as fast as possible — his Hasten ability makes him attack at dangerous speed and the tank takes heavy burst damage.
Hasten: Dramatically increases his attack speed. All defensive cooldowns immediately. Wing Buffet: AoE knockback.
03
Aeonus
EliteFinal BossElemental
Final boss and Infinite Dragonflight commander. He drains the timeline gauge with Sands of Time — the gauge depletes faster during his fight. Burn quickly.
Sands of Time: Actively drains the timeline gauge. Burn fast. Time Stop: Freezes the entire party briefly. Cleave: Tank faces away from group.

⚔️ Recommended Classes

Black Morass rewards sustained DPS above all else. Mage AoE is exceptional for clearing Infinite Dragonflight infantry waves. Paladin Consecration holds wide groups of wave attackers efficiently. Assign one player to call out incoming elite boss waves so the group can prepare cooldowns.

💡 Tips & Warnings

⚠️

Temporus burst: When Temporus activates Hasten he attacks extremely quickly. Your tank needs Shield Wall, Last Stand, or equivalent defensive cooldowns the instant Hasten fires. Coordinate with healer on this before the pull.

💡

Timeline gauge: The gauge is the dungeon's health bar. Low DPS groups feel the pressure during elite boss fights when clearing slows. If the gauge is dropping fast, focus elite bosses over regular waves until it stabilises.

🐢

Hourglass of the Unraveller: One of the best pre-raid DPS trinkets in the game drops from Aeonus. Black Morass is worth farming specifically for this item before raid progression begins.
