Choose the realm matching your tolerance
Normal PvE
N'Zoth
The conventional starting point if you want persistent progression without permanent-death rules.
Hardcore PvE
C'Thun
For players intentionally choosing the project's Hardcore rules. Confirm current death and grouping rules first.
Player versus player
Y'Shaarj
For open-world PvP players. Expect different levelling risks and population patterns.
Realm names and availability should always be rechecked on the official status display.
Use a clean installation
- Read the current instructions on the official site before downloading.
- Keep the client in its own folder rather than overwriting another WoW installation.
- Scan downloaded files with your normal security tools.
- Use a new password that you do not use for email, banking, Blizzard or other game accounts.
- Launch once without third-party addons, then add compatible addons individually.
Make four decisions before levelling
- Realm: Normal, Hardcore or PvP.
- Race: OctoWoW includes Goblins for Horde and High Elves for Alliance.
- Version: do not assume an official Classic guide matches a custom 1.18.1 mechanic.
- Challenge: confirm whether any optional levelling challenge changes your route or rewards.
