Orc

Orc
Horde
  • Blood Fury Active Reworked Now increases both melee attack power AND spell damage for its duration. Vanilla was melee-only, locking Orc casters out of this racial entirely. The rework makes Orc a legitimate choice for Warlocks, Mages, and Elemental Shamans who want burst damage windows.
  • Hardiness Passive Reworked Reduces all stun duration by 25%. Changed from vanilla's RNG-based resist chance to a reliable flat reduction. You will always spend 25% less time stunned — no variance, no frustrating streaks in either direction. This consistency is what makes it S-tier for PvP.
  • Command Passive Pet damage increased by 5%. Valuable for Hunters and Warlocks, especially Demonology builds where the demon's damage is a significant portion of total output.
  • Axe Specialization Passive +3 axe skill. Covers the most common Horde melee weapon type, reducing glancing blow penalties on endgame bosses for Warriors and Rogues who use axes.
Orc Mage is now available — Blood Fury's spell damage component makes this combination genuinely competitive rather than purely aesthetic. Orc remains the default best Horde race for PvP due to Hardiness alone.

Orc is the strongest Horde race for almost any scenario. Hardiness's stun duration reduction applies to every stun in the game — Cheap Shot, Kidney Shot, Intercept, War Stomp, Hammer of Justice. Against classes that rely on stuns to burst you down (Rogues, Warriors, Retribution Paladins), you spend significantly less time unable to act. Blood Fury's rework to include spell damage makes Orc competitive for every caster class, not just physical damage dealers. If you want to play Horde and don't have a strong reason to pick another race, Orc is the safe default.

Undead

Undead
Horde
  • Will of the Forsaken Active Removes fear, charm, and sleep effects on use. The single most powerful PvP racial on Horde — and arguably in the game. Fear is the most fight-defining CC in WoW PvP, used by Warlocks, Priests, Warriors with Intimidating Shout, and Mages with Scattershot. Removing it changes the entire dynamic of those match-ups.
  • Cannibalize Active Regenerates 7% maximum health every 2 seconds while channeling near a Humanoid or Undead corpse. Extremely strong out-of-combat sustain during leveling — almost eliminates the need to eat between pulls in zones with dense Humanoid enemies.
  • Shadow Resistance Passive +10 shadow resistance. Useful in PvP against Warlocks and Shadow Priests, and on shadow-damage raid encounters like certain Naxxramas and AQ40 phases.
  • Underwater Breathing Passive 4x longer underwater breath duration. Quality-of-life in any underwater content or questing zone.
Undead Hunter is now available — the only Horde Hunter that brings Will of the Forsaken to PvP, adding a fear-break tool to a class that normally cannot break that CC type.

For players who prioritise PvP, Undead is a strong argument over Orc. Will of the Forsaken breaks fear, which is not just useful — it is decisive. Warlock Deathcoil, Priest Psychic Scream, Warrior Intimidating Shout: all of these create windows where you cannot act and your opponent can. Breaking those windows on demand changes outcomes. Combined with Cannibalize making leveling noticeably smoother in Humanoid-heavy zones, Undead is the go-to Horde choice for Warlocks, Shadow Priests, and Rogues who want to dominate PvP.

Tauren

Tauren
Horde
  • War Stomp Active AoE stuns up to 5 enemies within 8 yards for 2 seconds. Excellent for tanking (buying healer reaction time after a bad pull), for melee DPS openers, for interrupting casters in PvP, and as an emergency reset tool. The AoE nature is its key advantage — it affects all nearby enemies simultaneously.
  • Endurance Passive +5% base health. Scales with gear — at endgame health pools this is a meaningful survival buffer, not just a rounding error. Strong for tanks, Hardcore characters, and any build where raw survivability matters.
  • Cultivation Passive +15 Herbalism skill. Lets Tauren start picking herbs that require higher skill earlier, and reach the Herbalism cap with fewer failures.
  • Nature Resistance Passive +10 nature resistance. Relevant on nature-heavy raid phases and in PvP against Druids and Resto Shamans.
  • Totemic Slam Active Custom Shaman racial. Slams the target with an ancestral totem, reducing their attack speed and casting speed by 25% for 8 seconds. A powerful debuff that simultaneously neuters melee damage and slows caster output — unique to Tauren Shaman.

Tauren is the tank race of Horde. War Stomp functions as an AoE interrupt and an emergency stun pack — invaluable for Shaman and Druid tanks who need to control packs, and strong for Warrior tanks who want an extra tool for loose-mob recovery. Endurance's health scaling makes Tauren the most survivable race at any gear level, which is why it is the recommended Shaman tank race and a strong choice for Hardcore players of any class. It is also the only Horde Druid option, so Tauren is the automatic pick for Horde Druid.

Troll

Troll
Horde
  • Berserking Active Retuned Increases attack and casting speed based on missing health percentage. Retuned in Turtle WoW to be consistent — the vanilla version required being nearly dead to get meaningful value, creating a feast-or-famine dynamic. The new version provides a reliable benefit across the full health range.
  • Regeneration Passive Retuned 10% bonus to health regeneration, with 10% of total regeneration remaining active in combat. Reduces downtime between pulls while leveling, particularly in zones where you take consistent damage.
  • Beast Slaying Passive +5% damage versus Beasts. Very useful while leveling through beast-heavy outdoor zones and for Hunters who grind animal-type mobs. Adds up meaningfully across a full leveling session in the right zones.
  • Bow / Throwing Specialization Passive +3 weapon skill with bows and throwing weapons. Solid for Troll Hunters who prefer bows, covering one of the most common Hunter weapon types on Horde.
  • Hex Active Custom Shaman racial. Transforms a Humanoid, Beast, or Critter into a frog for 4 seconds, preventing all spellcasting. A unique CC tool for Shamans — particularly amusing and effective in world PvP against Humanoid players.
Troll Warlock is now available — Berserking provides cast speed bursts useful for Destruction builds during Ruin windows.

Troll is the DPS-focused Horde choice for casters and ranged attackers. Berserking's retuning means it is now a reliable cooldown you use proactively during burst windows rather than a survival mechanism that only activates when you're nearly dead. For Elemental Shamans who stack cast speed, for Enhancement Shamans who want faster swings, or for Hunters who want to push Berserking into their damage rotation, Troll provides a haste burst that Orc and Tauren cannot match. Beast Slaying makes Troll particularly efficient for leveling through outdoor beast zones.

Goblin

Goblin
Horde
  • Exit Strategy Active Custom Grants a burst of movement speed, enabling quick repositioning or escape. Has no direct equivalent on Horde — uniquely valuable in PvP for breaking from melee, rotating between objectives in battlegrounds, and recovering from positional mistakes in both PvP and PvE.
  • Prospecting Passive Custom Improves both Mining and Jewelcrafting skill. Natural synergy between the two professions — Goblins who pursue the Mining/Jewelcrafting combination reach skill milestones earlier and are more efficient at cutting gems and processing ore.
  • Aggressive Negotiations Passive Custom +3 skill with daggers and maces. Covers two common melee weapon types across Rogue, Warrior, and other classes, making it a clean weapon skill racial for physical DPS.
Goblin is a fully custom Turtle WoW race — not available in vanilla WoW. Starting zone: Black Ash Coalpit, Blackstone Island. Mount: Rocket Car. All standard Horde-compatible classes are available to Goblins.

Goblin brings something no other Horde race has: a movement speed burst. Exit Strategy is the Horde equivalent of what Gnome's Escape Artist is to Alliance — a tool that changes your mobility in every fight. Rogues who want to reposition after a Vanish, Warriors who need to close on a fleeing target, or any class where getting from point A to point B faster matters will find Exit Strategy genuinely impactful. The Prospecting racial makes Goblin the ideal race for the Mining/Jewelcrafting profession combination, accelerating the leveling of both skills in parallel.
