The route at a glance
Westfall is the Alliance bridge into The Deadmines. Build around Sentinel Hill, finish the Defias chain, and use Loch Modan or Darkshore whenever the next quests jump above your level.
Westfall quest route
10-13: farms and the road
Collect Sentinel Hill and farm quests together. Clear harvest watchers, boars, vultures and early Defias without repeatedly crossing the whole zone.
13-16: People's Militia loops
Advance the Defias kill quests from camps toward Moonbrook. Do not force the later stages while the enemies are orange.
16-18: close the zone story
Finish the Messenger and Defias Brotherhood steps that send you through Redridge and Stormwind. These unlock the strongest Deadmines context and rewards.
18-20: Deadmines preparation
Collect dungeon quests before entering. Combine the run with remaining Moonbrook and Dagger Hills work, then move into Redridge or Duskwood.
Key quest chains worth grouping together
The People's Militia
A staged Defias campaign that rises in level as it moves south. Complete it in visits rather than one forced sweep.
The Defias Brotherhood
The signature multi-zone chain passes through Redridge and Stormwind before returning you to The Deadmines.
The Legend of Stalvan lead-in
Westfall begins one of Classic's longer story chains, which later continues through Elwynn and Duskwood.
Travel, hearthstone and handoffs
Core hubs: Sentinel Hill · Saldean farm · Moonbrook · The Dagger Hills.
Take every flight path on first arrival. Bind near the hub serving most current objectives, then change the hearthstone when the quest centre moves. Sell, repair and train during planned handoffs rather than interrupting every circuit.
Common Westfall mistakes
- Trying to complete the whole zone without visiting Loch Modan or Darkshore.
- Entering The Deadmines without its quest bundle.
- Grinding Moonbrook during heavy competition when another quest hub is open.
Where to go after Westfall
Your best alternative is Loch Modan or Darkshore. Changing zone is not abandoning a route; Classic deliberately spreads useful quests across overlapping level bands.
Westfall leveling FAQ
What level should I start Westfall?
The practical range is 10-20. Enter near the lower end only when the opening quests are yellow or green; Hardcore characters should generally arrive later.
Should I finish every quest?
No. Skip isolated, low-drop-rate or elite quests when forming a group or travelling would cost more time than moving to Loch Modan or Darkshore.
Is this route for Classic Era?
Yes. It is written for official WoW Classic Era and avoids later-expansion quest hubs and Turtle WoW custom content.
