Why choose Gnome?

Gnome is a compact Alliance caster and PvP specialist with extra Intellect, Engineering skill and one of the faction’s best movement-control answers.

How Gnome feels to level

Expansive Mind scales the character’s Intellect, helping caster mana pools. Engineering Specialization makes an already valuable Classic profession cheaper to push past difficult skill points.

PvE

Extra Intellect is straightforward for Mage and Warlock, while Engineering skill supports profession breakpoints. Gnome Warrior is fully viable even though the caster racials do not increase physical damage.

PvP

Escape Artist removes existing roots and movement-speed reductions after a short cast. It is exceptionally useful for Warriors and Rogues trying to reconnect with a target, but interrupts and pushback can punish careless use.

Do not mix versions: Gnomes cannot be Priests or Hunters in Classic Era.

Does race choice decide your character?

No. Racials influence optimisation and create useful moments, but class knowledge, gear, professions, encounter preparation and whether you enjoy the character matter more for most players. Choose optimisation when you value it; choose identity when that keeps you playing.
