Accept Attunement to the Core
Take the quest before entering BRD. Sharing the run does not help someone who forgot to accept it.
Choose the correct BRD route
A full clear works, but an experienced group can plan a faster route toward the Molten Core entrance.
Reach the Core Fragment
The fragment is outside the raid portal area inside BRD. Clear nearby enemies and interact with the quest object.
Confirm objective credit
Check the quest log before leaving or hearthing; the raid portal itself is not the objective.
Return to Lothos
Complete the quest to unlock his direct teleport into Molten Core for future raids.
Before you start
- Level 55 to accept the quest
- A BRD group reaching the MC entrance
- The quest active before entering
Keep unique quest items until the complete chain is turned in. If a step appears unavailable, check faction, minimum level and the previous NPC rather than assuming the guide belongs to a different version.
Why this chain is worth completing
Completion lets Lothos teleport the character directly into Molten Core, bypassing the long BRD route.

- Entering BRD before accepting the quest.
- Walking into the raid portal without clicking the Core Fragment.
- Leaving before confirming the objective is complete.

Is this guide for official Classic Era?
Yes. It excludes Turtle WoW custom content, Season of Discovery changes and later-expansion quest revisions.
What if the starting NPC has no quest?
Check the listed faction and level, then trace the previous prerequisite. Dungeon and attunement chains commonly hide behind an earlier capital or zone handoff.
Can I complete it solo?
Ordinary travel and collection stages often can be soloed. Elite, dungeon, escort and raid steps should be treated as group content at the intended level.
