Yeh'kinya at Steamwheedle Port sends players through prerequisite troll and spirit investigations.
The Ancient Egg step-by-step route
Complete Yeh'kinya's lead-ins
Finish the earlier Screecher Spirits and Prophecy of Mosh'aru work before expecting the Ancient Egg stage.
Collect every Hinterlands elite quest
The Jintha'Alor climb is too long to repeat for one forgotten pickup. Include Mallet, Sharpbeak and faction objectives where available.
Form a balanced outdoor group
Treat the city like an open-air dungeon: tank dangerous elites, control healers and keep the party together.
Reach the upper altar
Clear methodically rather than attempting terrain shortcuts that split the group.
Loot the Ancient Egg
Confirm every eligible player receives credit before hearthing or jumping from the summit.
Before you start
- Yeh'kinya prerequisite chains
- A Jintha'Alor elite group
- A complete summit quest list
Keep unique quest items until the complete chain is turned in. If a step appears unavailable, check faction, minimum level and the previous NPC rather than assuming the guide belongs to a different version.
Why this chain is worth completing
The egg continues a major chain connected to troll lore and later Sunken Temple objectives.
Common mistakes
- Going directly to Jintha'Alor without the active quest.
- Climbing for only one objective.
- Leaving before every party member confirms the egg.
The Ancient Egg FAQ
Is this guide for official Classic Era?
Yes. It excludes Turtle WoW custom content, Season of Discovery changes and later-expansion quest revisions.
What if the starting NPC has no quest?
Check the listed faction and level, then trace the previous prerequisite. Dungeon and attunement chains commonly hide behind an earlier capital or zone handoff.
Can I complete it solo?
Ordinary travel and collection stages often can be soloed. Elite, dungeon, escort and raid steps should be treated as group content at the intended level.
