Goblin Overview
Goblin is Turtle WoW’s custom Horde race: a full playable race with its own island start, capital, rocket car mount, and racials built around movement, profession value, and grubby efficiency.
Goblin succeeds because Turtle WoW commits to the concept instead of half-doing it. The race has its own start, its own city, its own mount, and a racial package that feels like Goblin gameplay rather than recycled Horde leftovers. It is one of the best reasons to pick Turtle WoW over a stricter Vanilla server.
Core Facts
Available Classes
Racial Abilities
Exit Strategy
A short sprint that sharply boosts movement speed, letting Goblin reposition, disengage, or recover from bad situations.
Prospecting
Improves Mining and Jewelcrafting skill, giving Goblin genuine profession value instead of empty flavor.
Aggressive Negotiations
Gives +3 skill with daggers and maces, which is especially relevant for Rogue and certain melee weapon paths.
Gremlin efficiency
Goblin does not have the biggest stat racials in the game, but the package feels practical, sneaky, and very easy to use well.
Strengths and Weaknesses
What Goblin does well
- Unique Turtle WoW custom-race experience from the first zone onward.
- Movement racial is always useful, especially in solo play and PvP.
- Profession support is practical for gatherers and crafters.
- Distinct identity that does not overlap too heavily with the older Horde races.
What to think twice about
- Less raw combat dominance than Orc in straight-up brawling.
- No fear break or hard crowd-control racial like Undead or Tauren.
- Class list is narrower than Troll or Human.
Best Class Choices
Rogue
Dagger and mace skill plus Exit Strategy make Goblin Rogue the most natural fit for the race.
Hunter
Movement and practical solo-play tools make Goblin Hunter a comfortable, fast-feeling leveling choice.
Warrior
Goblin Warrior is more niche than Orc or Tauren, but the mobility angle and weapon skill support still give it a real personality.
How Goblin Feels to Play
Leveling feel
Goblin leveling stands out because Blackstone Island immediately feels like custom content instead of a copy of old starter flows. The zone and race identity sell the character from the beginning, and Exit Strategy makes the solo pace feel agile and forgiving.
PvE notes
In PvE, Goblin is less about raw throughput and more about convenience, profession synergy, and a race/class feel that stays fun over long play sessions. It is a great comfort pick if you like utility over spreadsheets.
PvP notes
Goblin PvP revolves around movement and nuisance value. Exit Strategy is not subtle, but it is useful, and races with reliable movement tools almost always find ways to stay relevant.
Turtle WoW-Specific Differences

Racials were cleaned up in 1.17.2
Patch 1.17.2 improved Exit Strategy’s cooldown, changed Prospecting to support Mining and Jewelcrafting, and removed Chemical Superfreak.
A real alternative Horde identity
Goblin lets players avoid the old Horde archetypes and still feel fully supported by the server’s worldbuilding.
